Matteo Bordin
Matteo obtained his Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Padova (UPD, Italy) with a thesis on model-based methodologies for the design, analysis and implementation of high-integrity real-time systems: a paper extracted from his thesis won the “Best-Paper” award at Ada-Europe 2007. After two years as a graduate researcher at UPD, he joined AdaCore at the beginning of 2008. He now focuses on tool development and qualification in the context of DO-178B/C; and continues R&D in the area of model-based development, in particular metamodelling, model-based analysis and automated code generation. A life-long LEGO fan, Matteo is also a proud contributor to the Ada-on-Mindstorm project.
What does Frontline Support mean to you?
Frontline support is what differentiates AdaCore when it comes to the customer relationship. We are very proud when a customer manages to avoid a critical situation thanks to our timely support.
What drew you to Ada?
I’ve been always fascinated by language design, especially for the pursuit of abstraction, clarity and effectiveness: the solutions adopted by Ada, for example for concurrent programming, played a major role in attracting me.
What’s your favorite feature of GNAT Pro Technology?
I work quite a lot on several high-integrity embedded platforms in parallel: tools such as GPRbuild and the GNAT Project File allow me to easily cope with multiple target configurations and multiple compilation chains. I would thus say those tools really make my life a lot easier.
